Through this, their mood can either be incredibly happy, energetic, or active than accustomed to which is known as the “manic episode.” The contrary episode where the individual suffers from intense depression is known as the “depressive episode.”

The Symptoms Of The Manic Episode Could Include

Feeling unusually “high” or incredibly energetic.
Feeling very jumpy
Face troubles with being able to fall asleep.
Talking incredibly fast about multiple different things at once.
Becoming very agitated.
Having a feeling where thoughts are moving through the mind very fast.
The feeling of being able to do multiple things at once.
Performing risky activities such as spending money unnecessarily.

Whereas, for the depressive episode, the individual may be faced with symptoms including:
Feeling very “down” and/or sad.
Sleeping more than usual or becoming sleep deprived.
A feeling of anxiety.
The trouble of being able to concentrate.
Not being able to remember everything.
Eating either a lot or very little.
Feeling lethargic all the time.
Having suicidal thoughts or thinking about death.

The symptoms of this disorder are so severe that they can ruin relationships and make it hard for individuals to keep a job or perform daily activities. The severity of this disorder could even result in self-harm or even suicide.

But who develops bipolar disorder?

Pretty much anyone can develop bipolar disorder. It often begins in a person’s late teenage years or the starting years of the adult age.

It is not completely clear as to why individuals develop this disorder, but there could be several factors that would contribute to the development of it, such as genetics or the structure or function of the brain.
